The 6th Annual Battle Slam Jam

Saturday August 20, 2011

Grayson Skate Park / 750 Beal Street / Charlotte, NC 28211

The Event

Witness the transformation of Grayson Skate Park into an outdoor showcase of the baddest, best and most beautiful urban artists, athletes and professional performers from North Carolina and beyond. Charlotte’s 6th Annual Battle Slam Jam (BSJ6) experience takes place on Saturday, August 20th from 10AM to 6PM [ Rain Date - Saturday August 27 ]. The past 5 years have nurtured the BSJ into one of the most eclectic arts and urban athletic events to hit the Queen City.

The Battles

A one of a kind event, Battle Slam Jam is the only all-inclusive community festival welcoming all abilities, all ages, in all arenas of battle.

This year’s Battle Slam Jam promises to be the biggest ever, featuring multiple Skateboard Contests, DJs, Live Bands, a B-boy/B-girl Battle, Pop & Locking and Graffiti Art (the Staples of BSJ Past, Present & Future).

NEW to the Battle Slam Jam’s cavalcade of talented folks for 2011 is…

+ Comic Book Row – Hosted by Marcus Kiser of God City & Marius James of Wild Thrashers!
+ Custom Bike Show – Brought to the table by Alex Auther of M&M Entertainment
+ The Ugliest/Cutest Dog Contest – Just like it sounds. Have a dog that’s so ugly it’s kinda cute? Bring it!

Expert judges will award trophies & prize packs to ALL category winners. Tom Risser (famed metal sculptor) has handcrafted original metal skate board trophies for yet another year!

The Numbers

The Battle Slam Jam is a great family event (Rated E for Everyone) and is FREE to the general public. Registration for all competitors in any category is $10. Registration for ALL competitors takes place from 10AM to 11AM the day of event. Waivers must be signed for all competitors and full gear is required for anyone participating in the Skate Competitions. Bike entries must be parked by 10am & stay until 6pm. Space is limited. Late registration for any category will not be permitted.

The Talent
